Love, Joy, Peace...

The biblical Gospel starts with God, who created everything through his spoken word. From the empty darkness, God brought forth the heavens, stars, planets, and life on Earth, including the first humans placed in the Garden of Eden. They were given one rule: not to eat from a specific tree. However, Satan, God's rebellious enemy, tempted Eve, and Adam, standing nearby, stayed silent, leading to disobedience. This pattern of disregarding God's instructions and trusting false promises has continued throughout human history.

Because God is just, sin deserves punishment, which ultimately means separation from him, often referred to as hell. But in his love and wisdom, God devised a plan to punish sin while offering forgiveness. He sent Jesus, his only Son, who lived a sinless life and willingly took the place of sinners, enduring God's wrath on the cross. Jesus' sacrifice paid the penalty for all sin, offering salvation to anyone who believes in him.

After Jesus' crucifixion, on the first day of the week, some women went to his tomb and found it empty, with an angel proclaiming his resurrection. Jesus commands everyone to turn from sin and trust in him, offering forgiveness and adoption as children of God to those who repent.

The Gospel message is universal and applicable to everyone throughout time and culture. It offers the assurance of peace with God and eternal joy through faith in Jesus Christ.

Given life's uncertainty, the invitation is extended to embrace the free gift of salvation offered by Jesus rather than facing the eternal consequences of sin. To hear more about God's redeeming grace or for questions, please email info@alongsiderchurch.org.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
