They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching
and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to
prayer. (Acts 2:42)
Beginning October 1st, we’re committing as a church
family to pray three times a day. Prayer is how we stay
close to God, how we strengthen one another, and how
we join in God’s mission. To keep it simple and powerful,
we’ll focus our prayers on three things every time we
pray: God’s presence and power, our church family, and
the mission of God in our neighborhoods and nations.
To get started.
Set a goal and choose three times each day to stop and
pray. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner may be an easy
rhythm. You could even set an alarm on your phone to
help you stay consistent.
Let’s see what God does as we devote ourselves to
prayer. Imagine how He will shape our hearts, our
church, and our community over the next 30 days!
Pray Upward – For God’s Presence and Power
Lord, draw me closer to You today. Fill me with Your Spirit, renew my heart, and help me love You deeply.
• Ask God to deepen your love for Him and to fill the church with His Spirit.
• Scripture: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” (Mark 12:30).
Pray Inward – For the Church Family
Father, bless our church family. Unite us in love, strengthen our faith, and help us encourage one another to follow Jesus.
• Pray for unity, maturity, and encouragement within Alongsider.
• Scripture: “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).
Pray Outward – For the Mission of God
God, give us boldness to share Christ. Open doors for Your gospel in our neighborhoods and nations, and bring many to faith in You.
• Pray for boldness to share Christ and for people in neighborhoods and nations to come to faith.
• Scripture: “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
